Alyssa | mini session

We are staying with the “in laws” this week, single handedly DESTROYING life as they know it. We have our 100lb lab with us causing Rocky and Abby (the family’s two miniature snauzers to bark like the house is on fire- NON STOP.) To which Tucker just wags his tail like he has two new BFFs. My two tornadoes (aka claire and charlotte)- well, lets just say…. nothing is as it was. Twice my rugrats have let the hamster loose. As a thanks, and as an apology for the havoc we are wreaking… and out of the sheer inability that I have to resist a beautiful subject in perfectly crisp pre-sunset light–I shot a mini session with my INSANELY beautiful sister in law, Alyssa. So… all that to say- take a peek!

The Toooompsons.

Ok, really their name is Thompson. But this is my old friend, not old as in old, but old as in we have been friends since the beginning of time. Kim. When we were in 8th grade.. or was it 7th? She was the funniest thing I had ever seen. And she had this thing where she put ooooh’s in all her words. Coontacts (contacts). We are going to the moool. (mall). groooond hooogie. (ground hog- the nick name for a boy she had a crush on). you get the picture? so this is the tooompson family. (the thompson family) i still have the tendency to put ooohs in my words when i am with her.

well here she is with her beautiful family. is she a bombshell or what? do you wonder how my self esteem can handle such gorgeous friends? well… i am just confident like that.

the light was sooo beautiful. I couldn’t get enough. so we had some fun playing in it. THIS is the light I am talking about, people, when i tell you that late afternoon is the best light. i think it was a hair before six o’clock here.

Chris & Shanda | a wedding | part II

Despite that I took 17 days to post this- (is that really that bad?)- Chris and Shanda have been so wonderfully patient! Quick update- we are livin’ at the in laws for the week while they refinish our newly installed floors. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! We’ll be home- hopefully by the weekend and life as we knew it will almost be back to normal.

Chris- as handsome as he is, is not as pretty as Shanda- so he doesn’t get as many images!

and when she got down to Chris- he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. My sister Holly- also my second shooter- captured this one. I loved it- but had to give her props. ;)

I guess out of sheer habit- Shanda leaned into Chris to plant a big kiss on him about halfway through the ceremony- she caught herself in time- but they got a big kick out of it.

The after ceremony images with the wedding party can be challenging- trying to rally a big group and get them behind your vision. These guys were great! Renee, the maid of honor had the cute idea for this shot.
