Since I have your attention I wanted to elaborate on how I approached Brody’s session. You may have heard the term “lifestyle” photography. The term is used very loosely in the photography industry and can mean a number of things to different photographers. Lifestyle photography “Brandelyn Lee” style is when I come into your life, your home, your world and documents the happenings. It is less about capturing a traditional “eyes on camera” portrait and more about capturing your life. Most of my sessions have a “lifestyle” flare but also have a little more “posing” than a typical straight up lifestyle session. For Brody’s six month session, we went straight up lifestyle. Well, mostly anyway. When I arrived, he was just waking from a nap so we started the session all cozy in his room. Granted, these first two are “eye contact” photos, but that wasn’t necessarily my goal. The Goal: capture Brody’s six month world. He just happened to be pretty interested in me at that moment! Don’t you love his room???

I thought, since these two were such a playful and fun couple, a friendly leaf fight was in order. Unbeknownst to me, Garrett is quite the competitor and knew not how to have a friendly leaf fight. Look at him trying to figure out how he can get the most leaves in his arm span… and poor Christine’s cute little handful… she doesn’t even know what is about to hit her. Notice the last image in this sequence, his thrust of leaves didn’t even clear the air for he was reaching for more! I haven’t laughed this hard during a shoot in a long time!

She forgave him for trying to kill her with leaves and they proceeded with the cuddling!

The leaves had all fallen, much to my dismay. I never made the time to hog tie them for a photo session. I didn’t in the Spring and now Fall, in all its splendor had come and gone! BUT… as I watched my well dressed baby girl step off the bus a couple weeks ago looking all sassy and cute in her flowing skirt and caramel colored boots I said to myself, “self, you have 20 minutes to spare. let’s do this”. And so, I did! I forced myself to shoot fine jpeg, ya know, to minimize my post flow. (apologies for the photographer speak) As it turns out, fallen leaves make a killer backdrop too. Especially when they are surrounding two such beauties as my sweet angel babies. (I know the mommy speak is even more unbearable, but just let me have it. I am pretty excited about my  new site)

Update! It looks like the site is going live next week… some unexpected glitches! But it’s allll good, because I have this beautiful wedding to share! As in my previous posts, I will update the vendor links with the new blog using the new feature that will make it super easy for visiting brides to gather vendor information! This wedding in particular had an amazing band – Platinum, among other awesome features. So check back soon!

I am telling you… Glenn Ella Springs… it was just magical.

I was a little ambitious in the number I showed with this post SO… I have to stop there. But here are a few peeks of the lovely details!

The wedding party did most of the preparations at the Game Day Center  in Athens. The ceremony was held at the famous UGA chapel. Perfect for these two avid Dawgs fans to tie the knot! And not too shabby as far as pictures go either. North Campus is by far one of my favorite places to shoot with its large lawn dotted with huge trees. Lots of soft light and just plain delicious. The reception was held at Athens Country Club. Much of it was spectacularly orchestrated by the workings of lovely event coordinator, Carolyn Morgan. The flowers were put together by Gardenia.
