The Album Process ~ Step by Step

Our goal in creating your wedding album is to provide you with a tangible connection to the most important day of your life thus far, your wedding day!  If you are commissioning a portrait album or an engagement album, we want to capture you so perfectly that the album serves as a window into in a beautiful season in your life. We want to use the images we capture to create something you will treasure for years to come.

We will work with you along the way to create the perfect custom album. The process looks a little like this…

  1. Approximately 2-4 weeks following your wedding or portrait session, your gallery of images will be posted in a password protected gallery.
  2. Take a few days to get acquainted with the images. After browsing through the images, you will select and submit your favorite images for us to use in album design. CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP on how to submit your favorite images.  Please submit your favorites within the first 10 days of your gallery’s activation.
  3. After you have submitted your favorites, we will put together the layout for your album. We will try to use the majority of the images you chose, occasionally supplementing with some of our favorites as needed to tell your story. We will use artistic discretion to layout your images, choosing images that work together aesthetically. Approximately 7-10 days later, we will send you a link to view the design page by page as it will be displayed in your album. There is a place below each spread that enables you to comment.
  4. You will be given ONE opportunity to make changes and add your comments to the album.
  5. Comments can include image substitutions, toning changes (color to bw and vise versa), etc. IAs we view your images and remember your story, we may supplement some images. You may swap out our substitutions by being very specific in your image choices as well as color or black & white preferences. We strongly encourage you to submit your comments in a timely fashion (preferably within 7 days) to help with our production time on your album as well as keeping our other clients’ orders moving along smoothly.
  6. Please be as thorough as possible in your comments.  Use image #s and very detailed descriptions of the changes you would like made. The better we understand your desires, the better we are able to translate them to your finished album, avoiding the need for additional proofing. Please note, there is a $50 fee for additional rounds of proofing.
  7. Upon submitting your comments, we will review them and make any adjustments. At this time, we will also edit the final spreads with any retouching and/or necessary edits.
  8. All images in your proof gallery have been mildly edited. This is the way your images will appear in the final album unless otherwise requested. Generally we do mild facial retouching to any close up portraits and other mild adjustments at your request. Extensive editing may be subject to additional fees.
  9. After we have reviewed your comments and made the necessary adjustments, you will be given a final proof link to view your album as it will be printed. Please review your album layout and submit your final approval within 7 days.

10. Upon your final approval your album will be available for pick up approximately 8-10 weeks later.
