Shelby | senior 09

Shelby graduates in a few short weeks. When she contacted me to shoot her last minute senior portraits, I was so excited. Moved a few things and was able to pull it off. We had a blast. I had to force myself to stop shooting. After several times of ignoring the timer I set reminding me to quit before my Claire’s softball game, I finally obeyed. She was absolutely gorgeous and a complete natural. If college doesn’t work out… maybe she should consider modeling!!! Just kidding, Shelby’s Mom! I don’t really mean it. Shelby, I DO really mean it. *wink, wink*

my favorite… ooh la la.

Denny & Kelley | engaged

I am so excited about Denny & Kelley’s wedding. SO excited, I did something I never do. Book TWO weddings in one weekend. You see, my brother is getting married on the Friday before Denny & Kelley’s Saturday evening wedding. I turned down several weddings on that Saturday before I finally decided to meet Kelley and it was a done deal. Loved her from the start… and I must admit, I am a sucker for a gorgeous bride. And she will be soooo completely breathtakingly gorgeous it is going to hurt. And Denny. LOVED Denny. He might say, I loved him too much. I kept demonstrating to Kelley to hold his hand this way or place her hand that way and… I think he might have thought I was hitting on him.  But seriously, hands down one of the most genuine and cool guys I have met. I am absolutely beside myself with excitement about their wedding! So without further ado…

Jay & Marie | expecting

From the initial contact, Marie and I were instant friends. I loved how she could come across so friendly and transparent in an email and I just knew we’d get along. Upon meeting Marie and Jay, it was just as I expected! I almost felt like we should hug! They were great sports as I dragged them from one end of a strip of warehouses to the other to document the long awaited miracle baby in Marie’s tummy!

Marie and Jay, you were a blast!!! Thank you so much for entrusting me to capture this amazing time in your lives! Enjoy the slideshow!

OH! and before I forget– Marie makes children’s clothes. Soooo cute. Check her out!

Ryan . Ashley . Cooper | storyboards

Wanted to share a few storyboards I put together for Ryan and Ashley last night while the hubby did yard work. I guess I could’ve read a book on the back deck or got caught up laundry but who wants to do that when you can play like this?

* note * I try and throw together a couple for every session- they are customizable. if i put an image in that you would prefer to substitute with another, no problem! the text at the bottom? in or out- up to you! throw in some color to match the room its going to be displayed in? whatever! have it your way. oh wait. that’s burger king’s slogan. but still… have it your way! storyboards are a great way to get a lot of images for less bank. but shhh. don’t tell anyone.

Ryan . Ashley . Cooper | lifestyles

Last week Ashley and Ryan invited me into their home to photograph their 4 month old son, Cooper.
First, we played on Mommy and Daddy’s bed. He’s not a super big fan of tummy time, but he handled it quite gracefully! Is he a CUTIE or what? Look at those baby blues… *sigh*

you gotta love the bath Cooper is about to give his mama…

then we wandered outside…into their gorgeous back yard. Ashley saw a “mess”, I saw glorious rustic barn doors, vintage lawn furniture, vivid green grass and a whole lot of fabulous!

I thought Ashley.. I mean, Kelley. No, Ashley. I meant to say Kelley. Wait. Ashley. WHAT!!!???? I seriously kept calling Ashley her sister’s name the entire time I was there. True story. I had to throw that in because it was rather funny. Doesn’t ASHLEY look rather super-model-esque in these mommy-n-me portraits? Seriously.

now… sit back and enjoy a little bit more of their sneak peek! Click here for the slideshow!

Mike and Dianne | a wedding

I felt so blessed to be apart of this. Mike and Dianne have seen their share of hard times and spending the day with them, this day with them was such a sweet blessing. They had a small wedding in Braselton, Ga. The ceremony and reception were held at the gorgeous winery and resort, Chateau Elan. From my first encounter with Dianne at the salon, she was a picture of grace and elegance. And beauty.

and beauty. i said, beauty, right?

Mike… well, lets just say, Mike was a ball of fire. but the good kind. Igniting excitement, laughter and fun in everyone he came in contact with! Here he is looking quite dapper, I must say!

Mike’s son, James… also looking quite handome. We can even see those baby blues!!! They stayed hidden by his hair most of the day!

and here is a little freebie… this little cutie is the great-nephew of the bride.
The ceremony was held in one of the ballrooms inside the hotel.. here are a few peeks.

Could Mike be any more proud of his bride?

Here is one taken right after the ceremony of the wedding party goofing around. I love how Dianne is looking at her daughter, Danielle and sister, Debbie.

These people are well loved, that was clear. Twenty-five guests came from all around the country, North Carolina, Texas, Mississippi… to name a few, to celebrate with Mike and Diane. Many of them meeting Diane for the first time, were instantly as smitten as Mike. And smitten, he was. They were more giddy than any other couple I have ever photographed. Ever
After dinner the wedding party wandered up to the vineyard for some fabulous sunset portraits. i had a hard time narrowing these down so I tried to keep it to just Mike and Diane. BUT, I do love this one of Diane’s sister with her husband.

Dianne. Perfection. Truly.

Dianne and Mike, thank you so much for inviting me to share in this time with you. To not only document but to partake. I left your wedding with my cheeks hurting just a little bit from smiling at you two all day. You truly blessed me. Click Here to see their slideshow!
