Aaron + Leah | weddings

At the risk of souding redundant… I. LOVE. MY. BRIDES. Leah was no exception. I knew this would be true when I saw her step in dog poo at Keenan and Sara’s wedding last summer. She gave no care to the mess on her shoe threatening to soil her bridesmaid’s dress. She took one for the team as if to say, “its not about me”. Wow. What a picture. I loved every minute of your day. You and Aaron were a joy to watch. Your hearts for Christ spilling over into your love for one another was contagious. I found myself tearing up during your worshipful ceremony. I very nearly put my camera down to join you in worship! What a testimony you two are and will be to the greatness of God! I love it! Congratulations a million times over! Enjoy your sneak peak!
She wore Tom’s!

their gorgeous flowers were designed by a friend of the family with some MAD flower skilz! i loved all the flowers.

there she is!!! stunning, Leah!

The flower girl…. I could die. I think there are roughly 12483297 images of her in the upcoming PROOF gallery… I couldn’t resist her abundant curls and those baby blues!

Aaron wasn’t too bad either. A keeper for sure. He knew how to work it for the camera, I can definitely give him that.

Aaron and Leah had the cutest center peices. Flowerboxes for some of the guests!

one random dance shot…. there were too many to choose! that flower girl again…

The reception was held at Stonewall Manor and was orchestrated by Flavorful Events. I snuck away to get a shot of the party from a distance…

Don’t forget the slideshow!!! And soon… THE PROOFS. HINT: the gallery password is Leah’s maiden name

Wall Portraits | specials

Ok, some of you may not be aware of how fabulous wall portraits are. Seriously, all the rage. All the cool kids are doing it. 4×6’s. 5×7’s. Even the mother of them (8×10s) are for losers. Ok, not for losers. They are for gifts. Grandmas. Aunts. And for Scrapbooking, if you are into that kinda thing. Portraits on the walls—10×10 and larger— are the coolest.

BTW…. I went to one particular cool kid’s house yesterday and was BESIDE MYSELF with excitement over the wall portraits ALL OVER HER HOUSE. I love the gallery wraps in the hallway. I love, love, love the stairway gallery. That is 3 12×12 prints with 2 inch mattes– making each portrait 16×16 framed. The two portrait of her and her husband in the sitting area of the master bedroom, classic. So people, walk through the walls of your home and find a blank wall. And put some big portraits on it, please.

So, in honor of this joyous occasion of beautiful wall portraits— I am re-activating recent galleries from this summer. April-present. If yours was overlooked or if your session is from further back, fill out the contact form above and I will re-activate it for no charge.

Jacob, Lori, Aaron + Thomas, Kelly, Sawyer | lifestyles

Lori is one of my dearest friends. We met in college and quickly discovered we were the same person. And this is her husband, Jacob. They were acquainted in adolescence, being from the same small town. Through their mothers (I think?) they reconnected years later and fell in love, married and are presently living happily ever after in the Big Apple with their real-live baby doll, Aaron. Lucky for me, I get to spend an hour with them on their brief visits home!

see?! real LIVE baby doll, he is.

i loved the entire sequence of these but had to pick just one to make room for Round 2 of this session!

By Round 2, I mean that Jacob’s brother, Thomas and his beautiful family joined us about an hour later for some family photo action.
This sequence… my favorite ever, i think. I love it! I want it. Thinking about pasting my head on Kelly’s, Chad’s head on Thomas’s, Charlottes on Sawyer’s and then paste Claire maybe on my side holding my hand… What do you think? If I can’t find time to do a photo session of my own family, maybe that will do…
need i say, just kidding?
how do you like this cutie??!
He is the typical exploratory toddler so I saw a lot of this. But… I kinda like it.

but i love it when i saw some of this sweetness…

hope you enjoyed your sneak peek! more to come!

Charlie and Shelly + their two little loves | engagement

Meet Charlie and Shelly! I knew Shelly in high school. Though at the time, I had no idea she was this fabulous! Their engagement session was a blast, though I very nearly died of heat stroke while shooting it. I have to admit, while I love shooting adults… I almost had to be pried away from these cuties they brought along!!! They are my heart!!!
Charlie’s daughter… can you say the next generation Abercrombie model??!

and Shelly’s daughter… could you just die?! So cute.

I am not sure why, but i love this one! Shelly… to die for fabulous. Your eyes! Your smile! Your dimples! Your freckles!

I hope you enjoyed your teeny tiny sneak peek! more to come!!!

Kevin & Ashley | wedding

My cheeks hurt, true story, from looking at these pictures. Not my eyes. My cheeks. From smiling. I loved these people! I know I say that a lot. But I think Jesus saw fit to give me the most elegant and graceful and beautiful and marvelous, and whatever adjectives that I can insert there that mean A+++, brides ever. Ashley. Ashley. Ashley. I am amazed at you. Seriously. You were such a stunning bride and as the day went on I kept shaking my head thinking “i love her. i love her”. From her easy way with her bridesmaids,  her admiration and respect for her amazing parents, the strong bond with her siblings, and obviously the way she glows when she looks at Kevin… well it was just more than I could take.  I see enough weddings, and I love them all, but few actually make me get teary and… recalling this day is doing just that. So before I get all blubbery, I’d like to share a few favorite images from their day.

They were married at the First United Methodist Church of Athens. The reception was held at The Georgian just a couple blocks over in downtown Athens.

Ashley’s beautiful sister played the piano, no it was an organ, while her father sang a duet with Ashley’s aunt. It was very moving. Here she is practicing her pianoforte. Reading a little Jane Austen lately, had to insert that in there.

Ashley and Kevin are BFF. Can you tell? I love the way they interact.

Congratulations!!! View their slideshow!

DeAnna & Anna | lifestyles

This is DeAnna and Anna. Our neighbors. But sadly, not for long. They are leaving us in 2 weeks to move back to RI where DeAnna’s family all reside. This morning we got together for a mini going away session and I think this may be the fastest I have ever posted a session! DeAnna and Anna rocked the house and I expected no less from two beauties like themselves. DeAnna bravely volunteered to cart Claire off to Amicalola Falls for a hike (what tha??!!). Because she IS her mother’s daughter I just know that Claire is going to drive DeAnna crazy with her incessant whining about how hot it is. how she’s thirsty. how she is tired. how there are too many bugs. I warned her but the invite was already out of her mouth within earshot of both girls.  Therefore, I decided to surprise her with this little speedy gonzales sneak peek!
are they twins or what? i love it.

DeAnna, the hottie. Good news, boys, she’s single…

Little Miss

Saving the best for last… my favorite.
