Ken + Jenny | Wedding Part I

I don’t usually break weddings up into two parts, but I can’t bear to put off this teeny tiny sneak peek any longer. Going out of town threw everything off! I will tell you more about Ken and Jenny’s Villa Serena wedding next week when I show you a slideshow. But for now, I grabbed these right after upload to help with the wait…

More to come…

Charlotte | Round 2

A few weeks ago I shot a torturous session with my girls. (what is it with photographers photographing their own kids??!) After breaking out in nervous hives and threatening to sell them to the highest bidder, I landed only a few keepers in the the hour and half we shot. So, naturally, I had to try again. I shot this a couple weeks ago when my big kindergartener was in school. I will show some of Claire next week but for now my blog is feeling lonely. I can’t blog the work I am way behind on due to my impromptu trip to Kentucky this week. So…. If you will indulge me a peek at my baby… Charlotte | Round 2.

Excuse me… I need to kiss her all over her face til she screams for mercy… I will be right back.

my love, ask me anything and its yours.

This one is from the first session. Her meanness is even cute. and I am not biased.

Matthew + Stephanie | engaged

I am tying up some loose ends here before I head out to shoot my last wedding of the season today! Then, I leave to go out of town first thing in the morning.  Making the most of  this window of free time to blog Stephanie and Matthew’s engagement session.

Stephanie and Matthew– could there be a more beautiful couple? I met them at the monastery right after shooting Jenny and Ken’s session last week.  I don’t think Stephanie stopped giggling the entire time. My favorite kind of person is a person who laughs a lot. As long as they aren’t laughing at me… and the jury is still out on that one.

Stephanie and Matt…

When I snapped this one all I could say “ya’ll are gonna makes some pretty babies!!!” appropriate? I think so. Sheeeeesh!

They have so much fun together. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next June.

ooh la la….

I don’t know why but there is something about this one that I love love love.

again… *sigh*

and this one too.

Last peek at Stephanie the way she looked most of the session.

Ken + Jenny | engaged

Confession. I skipped church for this session. Yea… I did. I know, shame on me, right? But no. Not shame on me. I gained so much in the hour I spent with Ken and Jenny. After walking the grounds of this beautiful monastery, shooting, talking, hearing their story, I left them with a very full heart. If I could have hit my knees to the ground then and there, I think I might have. I was humbled and blessed, to say the least.

this sequence needed to be seen together. smitten much?

the lake…

loved this one…

the light. *sigh*

Hello? modeling might be a career fall back for Ken. Ya know… like if ministry doesn’t work out. Ha!

Nobody said “lets bow our heads and pray”. I think it just came out of the overflow…

Leaving with this little taste of Jenny’s fabulous-ness. I had about a fraction of a milisecond before she busted out laughing at herself. Just call me speedy.

Check back in a couple weeks for Ken and Jenny’s wedding. They get married SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gabe + Erin | weddings

Warning: I am blogging too many of these images. Just going to go ahead and tell you. I loved the venue. Belle Terra. I loved the light. The weather. I loved the bride. The groom. The people. Everything was perfect.

The shoes were so pretty to me. Perfectly feminine. Erin’s brother did the flowers (right?) and I gotta give him props. They rocked.

And I apologize in advance for the fact that my bride, Erin, here is a hottie. Sorry. Its just true. She is.

A shot from Erin’s bridal portrait at Barnsley Gardens.

and then another on the wedding day. Isn’t she stunning?!

hubba hubba. Gabe. The groom.

Finn, Gabe’s son, clinging to Daddy.

a tiny peek of the ceremony details… more of the ceremony in the slideshow!

Did I mention this venue was bea-u-ti-ful???

I had to pull rank on Gabe and Erin to get these pictures. It was party-time in their minds but I flashed my sad eyes and they let me drag them up the hill to the house that has the lake, the dock, the sunset and…. the weeping willow tree.

I like the above interpretation of the scene but I also liked it taken with a wide angle… So, I am sharing both!

Gabe and Erin had no trouble entertaining each other while I hid behind a tree for these shots. Get a room!!! Just kidding. It’s my favorite, when the bride and groom forget I am there and lose themselves in each other, yea… that is my favorite.

Just one more? pretty please?

Ok… if you saw my twitter and facebook statuses last week, you heard me crying about my worst fear being realized. I got sick at the end of last week. Not like the sniffles but like struck down. (warning: drama queen in me is coming out). But seriously, the way I felt Thursday night, I couldn’t have shot a wedding if my life depended on it. I do not get sick very often and when I do… it kicks my bootie. But thankfully, no swine flu here… just strep. So doc gave me meds and I was supposed to be good to go by kick-off on Saturday. And I was, but then I wasn’t feeling super about 30 minutes into the reception. And can I just say… my second shooter is the B-O-M-B dot COM… seriously. Daniel Stancil shot this wedding with me (my usual associate photographer had a wedding to shoot elsewhere) and he rocked the house. I can’t express enough how thankful I am to have fabulous people shoot with me. I couldn’t pull it off without them.
So, with those props to Daniel, I have to share these reception photos. Priceless. The next three are his interpretation of the craziness that is a wedding reception.
Finn… he detached himself from Daddy’s hip and turned into a party animal. You guys are going to have to keep an eye on this one.

Loved this shot of this beautiful red head… Erin’s sister in law, maybe? They look so happy!

And this last one of mine is probably going to cause Erin to feel less than amiable towards me… but I like it. Its like she is being sprayed with cold water instead a light shower of rose petals.

CLICK HERE FOR THE SLIDESHOW!!! Thanks for an amazing day and for inviting me to be a part of it all!!!
