Tips ~ Selecting Images for Album Design

Before you being submitting your favorite images, we want to offer you a few tips. When viewing 600+ images, selecting less than 100 favorites can be overwhelming! Consider your album as a storybook into your wedding day. It tells the story from beginning to end. Remember your day and think on the key elements you want to showcase in your album. Select images that feature those moments. As you view your gallery of images, consider the day generally breaks down into these key components. They do not all have to be included and may not all actually apply.

Key Components of Wedding Day…

1. The Details… the venue, the flowers, dress, shoes, etc. etc.
2. The Bride Getting Ready
3. The Groom Getting Ready
4. The Bridal Portrait
5. The Groom Portrait
6. The Bride & Bridesmaids
7. The Groom & Groomsmen
8. The Ceremony – several parts in itself…

• Bridal procession (generally just the bride, not the wedding party, depending on the number of pages)
• The Vows
• The Rings
• Ceremonial Moments such as any songs, readings, unity candle, etc.
• The miscellaneous—the sweet looks between the bride and groom, proud parents gazing at the couple, bored flower girl, rowdy ring bearer, etc. etc.

• The Details – the venue, table settings, centerpieces, etc..
• Entrance
• First Dance
• Parents’ Dances

How to Submit Favorite Images In Your Proof Gallery

• After you have gotten acquainted with the images in your online gallery, you will begin selecting images for your album.  You do this by selecting the images you like. They will get larger and you will see a little button on the bottom “add to favorites”.  (be sure you are in the PRINTS tab)

• As you select your images, you will need to consider two things…

1. SIZE: In selecting your images you will have to choose a size—it really doesn’t matter what size you choose. But if you REALLY love an image and would like it to be a focal point in the album (not a thumbnail size image)- it will help us if you select a bigger size. The ones you simply “like” select a small size like a wallet or 4×6.  For the ones you “love”, select larger sizes such as a 16×20. This will help us know you love those images and we’ll play them up in the layout.
   
2. TONING: you will also be given an opportunity before you “add to favorites” to select your toning. If you want the image displayed black & white, choose that.  If not, then we will make artistic discretion when choosing toning.

• Add, Add, Add. Keep adding until you have reached the number allotted to your album. Depending on your album’s page number, you are given an allotment of images. Please stay as close to this allotment as possible when selecting your favorites. We will make every attempt to use all the images you choose but please note we may supplement your images with a few favorites of our own.
• Complete the following steps. You must not close the browser before completing these steps or you will have to submit your favorites again.

1. Click “View Favorites”
2. Click ”Submit favorites”
3. The screen will direct you to create an account if you haven’t already- this saves your favorite selections whether or not you are ready to submit them. You may then take a break and come back later to finish your selections.  If you have already created an account, you will not need to hit “submit favorites” until you have finalized your selections. It will save them automatically the next time you log-in.

Finally, upon completing your selections, submit your favorites.  There is a white comment box if you need to drop us a note. Once you have submitted your favorites, we use them to create the perfect storybook to your wedding day!
