Paige {canton senior portrait photographer}

You may recall Paige, our promo session for her senior year was in the Spring. Her official session was a couple weeks ago, we met in downtown Canton and pranced from here to there having a blast. Here is a preview of her shoot!

those eyes. seriously. they are thaaaat blue. No tricks over here.

paige in all her cuteness…

Robbie + Jeanine { chateau elan wedding }

Jeanine and Robbie had a short and very sweet ceremony at Chateau Elan a couple weeks ago. I was invited to capture the ceremony and a few portraits of the newlyweds!  Jeanine and Robbie, congratulations on your wedding! Enjoy little sneak peek at the images we captured.

I am lovin’ how the yellow flowers compliment his uniform.

Pray it almost rains on your wedding day. Not that it actually rains, just almost. Ordinarily 5:30 is not my favorite time to try and shoot in open sun in July. Too bright. Too hot. But not when you have awesome blue storm clouds rockin’ the sky. Nope, not when you have those. Check out Jeanine. Stunning? I think so!

Her handsome groom, Robbie. Gotta love a man in uniform!

After the portraits, everyone had dinner in the Cafe Elan.  I did not stay for dinner but I did manage to grab a couple shots of the nice details put together by the staff. Again, lovin’ the yellow!

Willie + Kate | Trash the Dress {atlanta wedding photographer}

I will admit, I am unsure of how I feel about the trend of “trash the dress”. In my opinion “trash the dress” sessions can be dated, pointless and frankly, a little silly.  But Kate and Willie were super excited about it and it was a tad contagious.  Despite my hesitation, I dove right in.  (No pun intended) We were a tad aimless, the usual “following the light”, showing some love, splashing in the waterfall and having fun with little thought to what we were creating. But at the end of the day I was near giddy, well… downright giddy… over what we captured. So… I decided, sometimes trash the dress can be cool. If you are shooting it with a couple like Kate and Willie. Because their coolness oozes into whatever they are doing, making the thing they are doing… cool.

So, we started out like this.

And we got a little braver…

ooh la la…

Then we just got plum crazy. At this point, I realized this was not my average photo shoot. I was going to risk my life (or at the very least, risk my livelihood). I was going to  climb on big slippery boulders with gigantor camera ’round my neck.  And I was going to love every minute of it.

my favorite part of the session, I stood off a bit to capture Kate and Willie “frolicking” in the last few minutes of sunlight.

And finally, saving the best for last.  I can’t show this image without stating that I think its my personal all time favorite.

The Gonzalez Family | sneak peek {atlanta family photographer}

The image on the right says it all… new parents absolutely in love with their child. I think I heard Dad say “He is so cute!” about, oh… maybe fifty four times. Give or take. I love it! It is why I love my job. Because my clients are totally smitten with their kids and I have the awesome privilege of preserving those chubby cheeks, thighs, baby toes and oh my heart, those baby wrists (!) forever in these images. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Willie + Kate {frogtown wedding, atlanta wedding photographer}

Kate and Willie’s wedding was held at Frogtown in Dahlonega, Georgia. It was perfection (I know,I know, I am redundant, but it WAS!!!) The weather was beautiful. Sunny. But not too hot. Only 87 degrees. (i know, that is hot, but not for Georgia. In July.) The staff at Frogtown was amazing. The family and friends were kind and everyone was such a pleasure! Kate and Willie. Where do I begin? Like many couples I work with, I feel as though we have forged a friendship that goes beyond the pictures and my being your “photographer”. I relished every moment of capturing your day, truly.

Imagine my joy when driving up to this sight? Oh be still, my beating heart.

yes, dear, you made me “gasp”

look at this guy. he is as cool as he looks.

this was like a scene out of a movie as Kate topped the hill with her father. *sigh*

Kate models dresses on the side… ok.. she doesn’t really but she should! (FYI-  her dress is from the amazing bridal boutique in Roswell, Georgia called Wedding Angels)…

just one peak from their reception, you will have to watch the slideshow for more! I grabbed this shot during Kate and Willie’s Tango. Quite impressive, it was.

Enjoy your slideshow

Is Summer really almost over?

I know that summer is not really almost over but with school starting back in less than two weeks, I am feeling a tad nostalgic over here! There is nothing more beautiful than the light just before the sun is completely dipped beyond the horizon. Except maybe my baby playing in that light.
